Paula Sandberg is the loving mother of ten children. She, along with many other parents, wants her children to have access to the best possible food. While famers markets are the simple solution to this problem, few people are able to attend them due to scheduling conflicts. With limited attendance at these markets, local producers struggle to sell their products. Paula wanted to find a way to bring the traditional farmers market to the 21st century.
As a result, she created Heritage Local Co. Her digital farmers market allows consumers to buy locally sourced goods online and pick them up once a week. This system is compatible with all schedules, shines a light on local producers, and causes the consumer to feel good about what they’re buying. Heritage Local Co. keeps food fresh while giving back to the community. Currently, they are only available in McCook and North Platte, Nebraska, but with Paula’s tremendous leadership and a little help from Proven Ventures, they will be across the state in no time.
