Heritage Local Co partners with Proven Ventures to support expansion
Founder Paula Sandberg connects local producers with local shoppers, untapping massive economic development engine
Today, Paula Sandberg, CEO of Heritage Local Co, will celebrate a ribbon-cutting in McCook for Heritage Local Co where she will cast a vision for statewide expansion.
This vision includes bringing local producers of beef, poultry, vegetables and more to Nebraska consumers in the same way Sandberg’s done in McCook for the past year.
How it Works
Heritage Local Co is a modern take on the beloved farmers market model and grocery pickup, powered by an ecommerce engine.
With Heritage Local Co, consumers can go online to shop for many of their grocery-like items. Shortly after, producers deliver goods to Heritage Local Co for assorting and packaging. Then, consumers simply drive through and pick up their goods on a pre-set date at a pre-set location.
Partners for Growth
Currently available in McCook, Sandberg sees opportunities to take Heritage Local Co across the state.
“We frequently say that Nebraska’s culture is one of barn raisers and casserole makers,” shared Proven Ventures General Partner Nathan Preheim. “It’s no surprise that when we first learned of Paula’s clever take on supporting consumers and producers we were enthused.”
Proven Ventures recently partnered with Sandberg and Heritage Local Co to support the company’s expansion across several more Nebraska communities. Proven Ventures invests exclusively in Nebraska companies with a preference for leadership teams historically overlooked by traditional venture capital. Heritage Local Co is the 16th company in the Fund One portfolio.
